The Office - Dwight's Perfect Crime

I break in to Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No. I go for the
chandelier. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down a woman catches me. She tells
me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love
all night. In the morning the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I
tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I
like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard: I have a son, and it's the
chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to
meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years.
She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin.
That's where I stashed the chandelier.

Weekend in NYC, start of GIMNER

Weekend in NYC was a lot of fun.
Flew in on Thursday and hung out with Steven. grabbed dinner at Curry in a Hurry, then watched a lot of TV and played Civ IV.

Friday, i woke up around noonish, took the metro to go visit Janet and we just chilled at her place until it was time to go out for dinner. Dinner was delicious - Onigashima or something like that. Sushi. Yum. After dinner, we went to see the New York Philharmonic, which as quite an experience as well.
Before the show, we grabbed a fruit tart and shot the breeze.
Appalachian Springs by Copland was an amazingly beautiful piece, but they followed it with some ridiculous english poetry opera which made us laugh in our chairs (although we were trying very hard to be respectful and to not laugh)

After the orchestra, we returned to Bard Hall and just watched a lot of Boston Legal, which is a pretty fun show to watch. I must admit, I was reminiscing of my days in high school debate as I was watching the show. There is something about a forceful and concise presentation of arguments that really entices me.

Woke up Saturday morning, and we set off to eat brunch at Shopsin's. Didn't make it there in time, which sucked, but we wandered to Chinatown and had some late dim sum there. Then we stopped by a Fro-Yo place and then spent the rest of the afternoon journeying uptown to Ktown, looking for shoes along the way, where we were to rendezvous with some friends for dinner.

Dinner was good. It was actually the same restaurant I'd gone with Steven to the last time I went to NYC. I met two new people over dinner: Leah and Eric.  *more about them later, perhaps?

After dinner was karaoke, and I must admit that I have never had so much fun just singing amongst friends. I'm normally very very shy and only like to sing when i'm alone in the shower or something like that, but for some reason, i just felt very much at home and at ease.

After karaoke, Janet and I went out for some drinks and cheese and then returned to the dorms.

Sunday morning, we bad our farewells, and I returned to Houston.

And then GIMNER started.
On the first day of class, they did this presidential poll thing where they had our medical school class vote.

Obama won by a landslide. I actually think there were more people voting independent than voting for McCain.

GIMNER is tough. That, or i'm really just not able to focus or still chronically depressed. Mostly likely a mix of both, but hopefully I will get better soon.

The weather was really lousy today. Steven (my roommate) is asleep, and I have somehow felt inspired to xanga today.

Life has been peachy lately. Before today, the weather was nice for the pretty much the whole weekend.  on 5/1 i participated in the immigration rally in Boston and the Tech had a shot of me. (spiffy, huh?) Steven came along with me as we marched from Harvard to Boston.

These things, along with opinions that i express in HASS class make me wonder where i actually stand politically.....

Other things in my life~hmm.. got presents for my mother and brother, Joseph (his birthday is coming up the 18th and mother's day is this weekend).

There is a girl.  She is amazing. I'm scared of messing this one up. Pray for me if you're inspired to-i would appreciate that.

And .. steven just hinted that he would appreciate if i sleep soon. (i think the typing is bugging him)

Goodnight everyone.

Bible verse that has been weighing on my mind lately: 2 Corinthians 6:14
and it's implications.
=\

On a lighter note~ song of the moment: "Our Love" by FIR.

Jason, if you're reading this...you are way too nosy. lol, jk. but seriously-get back to studying. joseph, you too.

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Maybe I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's real and going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dark was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
And it's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

=)
